Malik Shi'3il: Let the Opinions Talk to the Hand as You Achieve Greatness

Focus on your goals not people's opinions about you.

"Malik Shi'3il" – a favorite Arabic saying of mine that encapsulates a powerful mindset. Living in a culture where everyone feels entitled to share their opinions on how you live your life can be challenging and intimidating. The pressure to conform to societal norms can discourage us from taking risks and pursuing unconventional paths. But here's the truth: other people's thoughts about you should be exactly where they need to be... behind you.

In this world, where conformity often takes precedence, how can we foster an environment that encourages individuals to embrace their uniqueness and disregard the judgment of others? While success stories and support networks can be valuable, I believe the key lies in cultivating a "Talk to the hand cause the face is busy getting what's theirs and going for their dreams and goals" mentality.

Instead of seeking validation or approval from others, we should empower ourselves to trust our instincts and follow our passions unapologetically. It's about recognizing that the only opinions that truly matter are the ones we hold about ourselves. We must build unwavering self-belief, knowing that our dreams are worth pursuing and that we are capable of achieving greatness.

Of course, it's not always easy to brush off the "kalam il nass" (the words of others). However, by adopting a mindset focused on our own personal growth and fulfilment, we can create a shield against negativity and criticism. It's about being proactive and reminding ourselves that we are the authors of our own stories, and we have the power to live life on our own terms.

So, let's strive to be trailblazers, inspiring others through our actions and proving that taking risks and pursuing our dreams can lead to incredible outcomes. Let's dismantle the notion that everyone's opinions should dictate our choices and pave the way for a culture that celebrates individuality and fearlessly embraces the path less travelled.

Remember, when it comes to living authentically and going after what we believe in, let the opinions of others talk to the hand because our faces are busy achieving greatness. Let's make "Malik Shi'3il" our mantra and reclaim our power to shape our own destinies.

To cultivate a "malik-shi’3il" mindset and prioritize your own path, here are some tips and tricks:

  1. Define your own values and priorities: Take the time to understand what truly matters to you and align your actions with your own values. When you have a clear sense of purpose, it becomes easier to dismiss outside opinions that don't align with your personal journey.

  2. Focus on self-awareness and self-confidence: Build a strong sense of self-awareness and confidence in your abilities. When you know who you are and what you're capable of, the opinions of others hold less weight. Remind yourself of your strengths and achievements, and let that inner belief be your driving force.

  3. Set clear boundaries: Establish boundaries in your personal and professional life. Learn to say no to unwanted advice or intrusive questions. Respectfully communicate your boundaries and make it clear that you are in control of your own decisions and path.

  4. Surround yourself with supportive individuals: Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you. Seek out a network of like-minded individuals who understand and respect your choices. Their positive energy and encouragement can help drown out the noise of those who are less supportive.

  5. Practice self-care and self-compassion: Prioritize self-care and self-compassion in your daily life. Nurture your well-being and prioritize your own happiness and fulfilment. When you are grounded and content with yourself, outside opinions don't matter as much.

  6. Develop a growth mindset: Embrace a growth mindset that focuses on continuous learning and personal development. See challenges as opportunities for growth and view failures as valuable lessons. By embracing this mindset, you become less concerned with others' judgments and more focused on your own progress.

  7. Remember your purpose and goals: Keep your purpose and goals at the forefront of your mind. Regularly remind yourself why you are pursuing your dreams and what you hope to achieve. Stay focused on your own path and let the opinions of others fade into the background.

  8. Practice resilience: Cultivate resilience in the face of criticism or judgment. Remember that everyone has their own opinions and perspectives shaped by their own experiences. Develop the ability to bounce back from negativity and use it as fuel to drive you forward.

By embracing these tips and tricks, you can develop a strong "malik shi’3il" mindset, freeing yourself from the burden of outside opinions and allowing yourself to live authentically and pursue your own dreams and goals. Let the Opinions Talk to the Hand as You Achieve Greatness
